This is the best overview of holistic methods of healing and the balance between the body's organs and systems that I have ever read. Silvia Casiabianca is to be commended for her knowledge, insight, and ability to explain it all in a beautiful way that also just makes sense. I recommend Regaining Body Wisdom book highly.

A 2001 survey by the American Nurses Association reported that for 70% of the nurses the acute and/or chronic effects of stress were among their top three health and safety concerns. Stress not only affects wellbeing and health, it interferes with the capacity of a health provider to safely deliver care. 

Having in mind that you nFrom a holistic perspective, the human body is viewed as a complex physical, emotional, mental and spiritual organism. Likewise, the effects of stress on the body vary from person to person due to factors going from nature (genetics) to nurture (environmental, nutritional, genetical).
 

This hands-on class will briefly review the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of stress and its effects on perceptual field, attention span and learning. Practitioners will also have the opportunity to learn easy and effective techniques to counteract stress.
The class will also discuss the multidimensional factors contributing to prevent deleterious effects from stress. 
You will learn how to detect the signs of stress on your body-mind and will focus on the strategies that you can incorporate in the workplace to effectively cope with stress, including nutrition, mindfulness, time management skills and psychomotor skills such as stretching, relaxation and deep breathing.
Learning to identify symptoms of stress early on will help in preventing the impact of stress on the immune system.
Health effects of chronic stress such as anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia and muscle pain will also be discussed.
